Amanda Day aka Earth Day Challenge and a Zendala Dare

I'm always fascinated where my tiles take me. This week's Diva challenge was to create a tile in honor of Earth Day. Well, her son fondly names it Amanda Day. Very cute. I wanted to create something with earthy tangles. I started off making a circle then putting leaves around it.  Okay, good enough start. I then wanted a globe. I sketched out a "string" of the land masses. I filled in the water with watery tangles (Shattuck and River) then went on to the land. I chose Tearce, Sugarcane, Vitruvius, Woven, Flux,  and AirFields (I just made up that name because I think it looks like fields from an airplane). Ah well, please let's all of do our part in helping Amanda get healthy so our grandchildren's grandchildren will have a beautiful Earth to enjoy.

I also decided to try the zendala dare. For this one I started in the middle and put a little circle, added lines and more circles then Betweed with a fill of Perfs, went to the outside shapes with Striping, then back to fill in with a Hurry variation. This is my entry for last week's challenge:

Enjoy yourself. Go play.
