I walk the line______

Challenge #14 from Iamthediva. This week we're only drawing straight(ish) lines. I tried to stay away from tangles that started with straight lines but wasn't totally successful. I enjoyed this challenge a lot. I like the variations. I find myself thinking that I'm done and then notice the next day that I forgot the shading. Huh. I add the shading and then breathe a sigh of relief. Better. Funny how this has happened more than once. I wonder how long it will take me to figure out that I'm not done until the shading has been added.

While I'm at it, here is the mini challenge with Laura's Versa tangle pattern. I used a tile that I was playing with inks with. I also messed up in a spot but I know you all don't care (that's why I love you all). I had fun with your versa tile, Laura. Thanks!

T'other hand

Laura at always seems to know what I need next. Hmmmm. I was wondering when I was going to get around to drawing a tangle with my non-dominate hand. I've thought about it for a while now, but never got around to it. Laura gave me that little nudge that I needed. It certainly was interesting to create a tile with t'other hand. A lot was going through my mind. I was nicely surprised that I could actually do it. I did have to remind myself not only to breathe, but also to use my fingers and to BLINK! Yikes, you know when you look at those Magic Eye books and your eyes go bonkers after a while? Well, my eyes were doing the same thing. They wanted to go cross-eyed and I had to blink a few times to get out of that. Too much concentration? I wonder when my next eye checkup is due? I hope it's soon.

I also was thinking about the kindergarten class I work with. Some of the kids seem pretty stiff fingered and I try to get them to relax their fingers so they can help form the letters. We draw lots of little circles with just the fingers to get those muscles moving. Figure eights would help too, large and small. Drawing with my left hand brought a lot of insight. Very interesting.

It's a blue challenge.....challenge #12

Well, that was fun. I enjoyed going blue. I used the tombow markers, water spray on plastic then rubbing the tile in it method first, then tangled and added prisma colored pencils and a bit of more markers. The string I used is a "b" for blue. I'm happy with it and love blue, so I was in a good place making this tile. I hope you like it.

I'm still working with the best way to show the photographed tile. I'm liking my phone camera these days since I've figured out how I can zoom in. Now I take the picture and put it in my Dropbox which then automatically updates my Dropbox on my laptop and voila! I can find the file and upload it here. Oh, the simple things in life that make happy. What works best for you?

My entry for Challenge #11

Update: I finally finished with the shading on this monotangle today. I do like it better now that it is completed.

I stopped by our local quilting store today, Waterwheel House Quilt Shop, and as I walked in the owner, Shelley, said that they were just talking about me this morning. Huh. She then showed me her new Zentangle books. Ahhhhh. Now I can't wait for them to do some playing themselves so they can show me how to tangle with the sewing machine (I certainly am good at tangling up my sewing machine, but that's different). Just what I need, a new interest (like a hole in the head), but now I am curious.

Choosing one tangle for a "monotangle" and fill up the tile. I am so happy that Laura Harms came up with this challenge. Actually, I had to think about it all week, but I do like the result. Lots of thoughts, lots of tries, but here it is:
