I will also strive to achieve these four diamonds of Courage, Wisdom, Honesty, and Strength as I travel tomorrow to say my goodbyes to my brother who hasn't even the chance to battle his cancer.
A place to share my musings. There are so many ideas around us and I try to play with the ones that tickle my fancy. Zentangle, needle felting, wet felting, garden art, photography, kayaking.

Challenge #58 diamonds
Here's my entry to the Diva's challenge this week, exploring diamonds for Penn State's Four Diamonds Fund. The Four Diamonds Fund was started by Charles and Irma Millard after their son, Christopher, lost his 3 year battle with cancer in 1972. Symbolic of the traits Christopher felt were needed to defeat cancer, he wrote a story in which the knight Sir Millard overcomes obstacles to achieve the four diamonds of Courage, Wisdom, Honesty and Strength.
I will also strive to achieve these four diamonds of Courage, Wisdom, Honesty, and Strength as I travel tomorrow to say my goodbyes to my brother who hasn't even the chance to battle his cancer.

Love your solution! You certainly did the Four Diamonds justice Janee.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your brother. There is a sense of irony that this particular challenge was brought into your life at this time when you needed it, I hope it brought you comfort, in addition to the other qualities of the four diamonds.
ReplyDeleteMy post to you has been bothering me since I wrote it, Irony is not the word I wanted, I meant synchronicity, please excuse my stupidity.
DeleteNo worries, Deb. and yes, synchronicity played heavily in this challenge.
DeleteI am moved by your post and don't even have adequate words to express my response. I am sorry for what you and your family are going through, and hope that your time with you brother is fulfilling despite the circumstances. Wishing you and your brother comfort, peace, and quadruple diamonds.
ReplyDeleteOh my, a beautiful zentangle, and oh so appropriate at this time for you. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother, and know that my thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
